It proposes an installation of fluorescent lights, each with switches, where anyone can speak their mind, and advertise it to the entire bay....

Currently, the City of Albany has been evicting people living peacefully at the Albany Bulb, sometimes destroying their belongings, and their makeshift homes.

This participatory project is a last-resort platform for communication--a means of representing the underrepresented in urban space.

I am currently looking for ideas (and funding) to turn this into a portable public installation. Please let me know if you know of any competitions, grants, other caring donors that would love to sponsor a letter of this project!

Urban Swings

A project I started in 2004:

“Urban Swings” is not about its makers, or our messages. Urban swings is a celebration about public space and the people bring it to life. It’s a provocative call proving that we are not just players in our urban space, but we are shapers of urban experience. Each and every one of us.
These swings are made of recycled rope and wood, and serve as a call to action for the public, whether it’s to sit your ass down and swing, or to go out and make some of your own. It’s that simple, and it’s all about you. Brought to you by your neighborhood activist.

Urban Swingers

Add to My Profile | More Videos

A quiet revolution reshaping the way we participate

This blog is not just about ME.
